6 simple ways to level up your home for Autumn
It’s official. We are into the season of golden-glow days and dewy-fresh mornings.
In preparation for the upcoming winter-hunker down, here are some simple switch-ups to get your home season-styled to perfection!
1.Rug up!
Autumn is all about layering, so let’s start from the bottom up!
Adding a rug to your lounge or next to your bed adds visual as well as physical warmth underfoot; bringing a space together by linking the individual elements with its solid area.
2.Satisfy the senses
If you haven’t already, it’s time to crack out the candles & diffusers. If you weren’t into this self-care ritual before, then Autumn is definitely the time to pick it up. Not all of us have the delicious luxury of a wood-burning fire… in the absence, candles are the one! Candles are scientifically proven to soothe the mind with their soft glow ambience and delicate fragrance- perfect for setting the mood for a cosy evening inside.
3.Colour yourself cosy
Bring in the warm colours of the season; rust, cinnamon and ochre through your styling- cushions and accessories are great interchangeable items to switch out from season to season, at a low-cost. Even simply swapping out your pillowcases to a warmer colour invites a change of mood befitting of the season.
4.Cuddle up with cushions
Autumn / Winter is layering season. Just as you would wear layers to go outside, adding throws and cushions in varying textures to your interior décor adds visual warmth as well as the obvious snuggle benefits! Bonus points for feather inners and fluffy plush blankets that allow you to really sink in for that instant hug feeling!
5.Embrace the season
Swap the fresh blooms of Spring/Summer for foraged finds and dried arrangements. Twigs with berries, cotton branches and crisp orange leaves help to bring the outside in- maintaining our coveted connection with nature year-round.
6.Light ’em up
Bring in some warm ambient lighting- lamps with low wattage bulbs or fairy lights for some intimate sparkle. No-one wants to relax in the evening with bright overhead lights at the best of times, but this is without a doubt the season for mood-lighting for cosy cuddling up with a book.
